I just got a new issue of Bicycling Magazine, and Dallas was named one of the 3 worst cities for cycling. They note that Dallas has a vibrant cycling community, but it’s almost impossible to get around the city by bike. Can’t argue with that.
They lump Fort Worth in with Dallas, which isn’t really fair — Fort Worth is far more bicycle friendly than Big D.
Here’s a fun fact: Texas House of Representatives killed a bill last summer that would have required cars to give bicyclists 3 feet of space when passing. I guess that was too much to ask.
