This evening Ben and I attended the Cycle for Science dinner at the Fort Worth Club. This is an annual event benefitting the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. By making a donation to the museum, a few lucky folks are able to have dinner with Levi Leipheimer and Jason McCartney, two elite level pro cyclists. For those of you that don’t follow cycling, Levi placed third in this year’s Tour de France.
This was one of the coolest things I’ve done in a long time. We had a great dinner (steak and chicken) and Levi and Jason answered questions from the group. It was a casual, intimate setting and were able to ask any questions we wanted to. It was a real treat to hear Levi and Jason give their own accounts of races that I’ve watched on TV.
I’m off to the MS150 in the morning, but Ben gets to do a 30 mile ride with Levi and Jason. I’m looking forward to hearing how that goes.
