Annie Hall

In my quest to catch up on critically acclaimed older movies (and by older, I mean anything made before 1980), I watched Annie Hall last weekend.  This film is a romantic comedy by Woody Allen.  It swept the Oscars in 1977 and is #31 on the AFI list.

Annie Hall is a really simple movie — it’s mostly just people talking — so it is all about the dialog.  If you like Woody Allen’s sense of humor (which I do) you’ll like it a lot.

Overall Annie Hall was a good movie — definitely worth seeing.  But I didn’t think it was any better than a more recent romantic comedy also starring Diane Keaton, Something’s Gotta Give.
