The Broken Record Principle

In preparation for a strategic planning project at ThinkCash, I’ve read a few books and articles on the subject.  Any good strategic planner will tell you that communication of the plan is just as critical as the strategy itself.  But how do you know if you’ve communicated enough?

One book I’m reading now has a good litmus test:

You know you’re communicating enough when people start mocking you.

In other words, if you’ve stayed on message and repeated yourself enough, folks will make fun of you for sounding like a broken record — but it’s a sure indicator that they’ve gotten the message!
