Megan and I got back from Vegas late Monday night. I had meetings starting at 7am on Tuesday and then today I flew to San Fran and back. So I’m just getting around to posting the highlights from our weekend. Here are the top 3:
#1) Seinfeld — We’ve always wanted to see Seinfeld in concert, so this was the reason for the trip. He didn’t disappoint. He did about an hour of stand-up and then took questions from the audience. By the end, our mouths hurt from laughing.
#2) Climbing — I can’t go to Vegas without climbing — even when the temperature is over 100. I met my friend, Larry, for a half day and we did two routes (totalling 4 pitches) in the Mossy Ledges area of Willow Spring. We started at 6am and there was a nice breeze, so it was actually very comfortable. I hadn’t climbed outside in a while, but I felt pretty solid. Here’s a pic of me leading the crux roof move of Soylent Greenjeans.
#3) Wing Lei — Usually I find the food in Vegas to be disappointing for the price, but this time we found an exception. We had dinner at Wing Lei at the Wynn Hotel, which is the only Chinese restaurant in the United States to have ever received a Michelin star. I had wok-fried lobster and Megan had walnut crusted prawns and both dishes (and the sides) were fabulous — the best restaurant meal I’ve had in a long time.
