Wichitas Circuit

Blake on Kerplunk, one of the most enjoyable routes in the Wichitas

Last Sunday, Blake and I made a quick trip to the Wichitas for a day of climbing.  It was a chance for me to tune up for next week’s trip to Red Rocks.  We started in the Narrows with my standard circuit of climbs and finished the day at Lower Mount Scott.  Here’s what we climbed:

  • The Dihedral
  • Crazy Alice
  • Fantasy Roof
  • Sundown Dihedral
  • LTD
  • Kerplunk
  • Tyro Rumpus
  • Afterburner
  • Mr. Clean
  • High Anxiety

  1. Dang, you guys were moving fast. I’ve also never been to Panther Canyon yet. Is it worth the trek out there? Having just moved to Austin, it may be a while before I get back out there. Still haven’t done Kerplunk yet either. That photo makes it look scary as hell.

    • The two routes we did in Panther Canyon are worth doing. It’s only 5 min from Lichen Wall. Kerplunk is probably my favorite route in the Wichitas. Really good moves and a great setting. Enjoy Austin – great city!
